- Certified CrossFit Trainer (CCFT) -Level 1
My love of sport and fitness must have come from my parents. Some of my earliest memories are going to the YMCA with my mom so she could go to her exercise class! These days my father is doing Pilates and playing tennis 3+ times a week and my mom is an avid yogi!
I played soccer, softball and basketball throughout grammar and high school and one year of college softball. Through sports I met lifelong friends and really developed my love of sports and of being part of a team.
When working at my first job after college in NYC, I discovered yoga. During lunch or after work I began a practice that I cherish today! Yoga was extremely beneficial before, during and after each of my four pregnancies. It was after my third child was born that I started a couch to 5k program and ran my first 5k. I was encouraged by a friend & then running coach that I was “a runner.” That began my love of running and I have run in over 20+ 5k’s locally over the last 13 years.
When a friend wanted me to try CrossFit I was unsure it would be a fit for me, I was happy with yoga and running. Well, I’ve thanked her a million times since because joining CrossFit Salus 6 years ago was one of the best decisions of my adult life. It has ignited a passion for wellness and fitness and strength! It helps me daily, both mentally and physically to live a happier and healthy life! But most importantly its given me a second family, as our community is extremely special. I like to think of it as our Salus community is my team and CrossFit is my sport :)
I recently obtained my CrossFit L1 so that I can share my passion for CrossFit and continue to grow as an athlete and trainer. When not at Salus, I can be found running my own small business sharing my love for a natural lifestyle with Young Living Essential Oils or practicing yoga and working as studio manager at Stress Free Body Yoga in Keyport. I look forward to seeing you in class and cheering you on!
